Check out the Wikipedia entry on the English Renaissance. (Just click on the highlighted words and a new window should open.) Read the entry about the Renaissance period.
Then, go to the Wikipedia entry on the Renaissance Man. After you read this entry, in a new post on your blog titled “Assignment #5″ name someone from recent history or someone who is still alive today who you think qualifies as a Renaissance Man or Renaissance Woman. Why do you think so? What makes them qualify as a Renaissance person? After you publish your ideas in your own original post, browse through the ideas left by some of your classmates and leave a few comments.
(Please complete this assignment by 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2009.)

I believe my dear friend john wayne does agree.
Although, I really don’t see how you can disagree with me.
You have a pretty simplistic and absolute view on the male brain; how is that not predictable?

Ahh, but upwind, you share my difficulty, except your view is directed at females. Predictable, hum…? =)

Freud loved his cocaine. He wrote a book on how there were at least 100 uses medicinal uses for cocaine called The cocaine papers.(I’ve been meaning to read it.)Back then, they thought it was a god-send. They even gave it to alcoholics to help with detox.

Hey Mrs. Roper, wordpress has been messing up on my computer and last night (Sunday) is would only save assignment 5 as a draft, but I just got home from golf and it let me publish it. I forgot to tell you today in class, but you said that it didn’t matter anyways because you haven’t been on to check. I was just letting you know that tonight just in case you got on.

“They even gave it to alcoholics to help with detox.” It’s amazing how we firmly believe something at some point in time just to have the notion completely disproved at a later date. Now it seems ludicrous that cocaine might ever have been seen as a treatment for alcoholism. Thanks for the history lesson upwind! Your brain is crowded with a ton of interesting facts!
